Is Pamukkale worth a day trip from Antalya?

We're staying in Antalya for a week. Is a day trip to Pamukkale worth it or is it too long?

It's doable but it's a very long day: several hours of driving each way. If you can, stay one night in Pamukkale village instead. You'll see the travertines early or at sunset when it's quieter.
Don't skip Hierapolis, the ancient city on top of the travertines. Many people only see the white terraces and miss the theatre and the necropolis.

You have to walk barefoot on the travertines. Bring a small bag for your shoes and something to dry your feet.
