Is it worth taking a hot air balloon flight in Cappadocia in winter?

Flights run all year, but winter has more cancellations because of wind and fog. If the balloon is the main reason for your trip, stay at least three nights so you have spare mornings.

Snow on the valleys looks amazing from the air. Dress in layers, gloves and a hat; it's freezing at dawn while you wait, though it gets warmer near the burner.

Fewer tourists in winter also means the launch fields are calmer. Just make sure you book with a company that refunds or rebooks if the flight is cancelled by the authorities.
